ERA results show RMIT research continues to grow
ERA – Excellence in Research Australia, is a national system, developed by the Commonwealth Government of Australia and being run by the Australian Research Council (ARC), to evaluate the quality of research in all Australian universities
The quality of RMIT research has been highlighted by "above world standard" results in 19 disciplines in the 2012 round of the ERA exercise. This is the second nationwide analysis of research quality conducted in Australia, undertaken by the Australian Research Council.
The results reflect the continuing growth of RMIT as a research institution, committed to high-quality and high-impact research. The research is focussed on areas of strength and is enhanced by the cross-disciplinary approach. More than 8,000 publications and other research outputs were assessed by ARC and is a testament to RMIT's research focus.
The outcomes underline RMIT's status as a global university of technology and design, with "above world standard" results in the following disciplines:

In 15 other disciplines RMIT research was judged to be at world standard. On number other disciplines RMIT’s quality was further reinforced as being at or above world standard.
